3 Tips for a Light San Diego Travel

Author 03-03-2020

The allure of a seaside vacation lies in leaving all your worries behind you and taking each day as it comes. One of the best ways you can do this is by traveling light! Take these three tips from us for a light San Diego travel:

Tip #1: Pack Light

It all begins when you first pull your suitcase down out of the closet. If you want to travel light, choose your smallest suitcase and only pack the absolute necessities. Wait until your vacation is right around the corner and then check in with the San Diego weather forecast so you’ll know what kind of clothes to pack and you won’t have to guess or bring any extra items you won’t need. Bring only two pairs of shoes: one for the city (a comfortable pair of walking shoes) and one for the beach (some easy-to-remove sandals).

Tip #2: Living Light in San Diego

Shop locally! Head to Ocean Beach Farmers Market when you first get into town to stock up on some local groceries and get a great first view of the ocean while you’re there. If you’ve come to San Diego light, that means you can splurge more on souvenirs when you get here too. Check out Seaport Village, Gaslamp Quarter, and Fashion Valley for some awesome shopping experiences. You can even rent a bicycle here (from The Bike Revolution or Stay Classy Bike Rentals) if you chose flying over driving, and you’ll love riding around San Diego with the wind in your hair.

Tip #3: Stay in a Home Instead of a Hotel

Hotels can be small and bare-minimum when it comes to amenities. Vacation rental homes offer you valuable bonuses to make traveling both easier and simpler, such as washers and dryers so that you can pack less and wash all that sand out of your swimsuit while you’re here too. You’ll also have a kitchen with all the modern amenities ready to go, so that you can shop local and keep food in the fridge and have somewhere to cook it. Keep your souvenirs in your closets or drawers, and if you want, ship them home before you head back so you don’t have to worry about lugging the souvenirs back with you.
