As fall and winter arrive in San Diego, you may notice a difference in decorations, activities, and traffic, but what you won’t notice is much of a difference in the weather! Temperatures stay steady throughout each month on the calendar, making San Diego one of the most sought-after vacation destinations in the world. If you happen to live in an area where fall signifies the beginning of cold days and gloomy skies, THIS is the perfect time to visit! Here’s a list of some of our favorite winter and fall activities in San Diego—enjoy!
Coronado Island Film Festival, November 9-12, 820 Orange Avenue
A good movie can take you to all the places you have ever wanted to visit, and the Coronado Film Festival features only the best movies, including new movies that are destined to be your new favorites, old movies that have held your heart forever, parties, celebrities, and a finale that includes a beach screening of “Some Like It Hot” and a bonfire. Movies enhance our lives, and the Coronado Island Film Festival celebrates the best of the best.
Go to the Beach
The water may be a tad colder, but the peace and tranquility a day at the beach offers is something you can enjoy no matter what the season! Head out to Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, or the world-famous Dog Beach in Del Mar to see what we already know: Life truly is better at the beach!
The Arrival of Surfin’ Santa, November 25 at Seaport Village
Even Santa finds the waters of San Diego irresistible—so much so that he leaves the reindeer at home and surfs to our favorite retail center! Wearing a Hawaiian shirt and carrying a big red board, your kids will thrill to the sight of this new, hipper Santa, and your Christmas photos will be different than any others on the block as your kids will get to pose next to Santa “riding a wave!”
December Nights in Balboa Park, December 1st & 2nd
Everyone knows the month of December is always going to be about Santa, and December Nights in Balboa Park offer an exciting way to kick off the holiday! Tasty treats, live entertainment, arts, crafts, and a tree lighting ceremony make this party the talk of the town! Winter activities in San Diego have it all!
