San Diego Escape Room

A phenomenon that’s sweeping the nation, escape rooms have popped up in cities all over that have created fascinating themed challenges that require you to use every ounce of your mental might to crack codes, solve puzzles, and make it through the escape room before time runs out. In San Diego, the escape rooms are no exception; in fact, they stand out from other escape rooms! Read on to find out why this attraction deserves a spot on your vacation to-do list in San Diego.

Challenge Your Wits in this Entertaining Type of Attraction

Among the best escape rooms in San Diego,  are those at The Puzzalarium, Escapism, and Great Room Escape. Most escape rooms will allow single- or two-person groups of players to join up with other groups for an immersive, fun experience where you can meet new people. However, many escape rooms are either entirely private parties or offer the option of private groups, ensuring that you have fun with your companions no matter what.

Escapism has rooms and puzzles themed around an art gallery-meets-spy organization, the suspicious attic of a seemingly normal next door neighbor, and a medieval dungeon, with plans to open a brewery-themed room in 2017. Prices for the experience start at $30.00 before tax and booking fees.

The Puzzalarium offers visitors the chance to solve and explore their way through rooms such as “The Floor is Lava,” where you and up to twenty-four other people are secretly assigned a role and a team and must figure out who is on your team while avoiding stepping in lava, and a narrative puzzle room for two to six players known as “The Parlour.” The Parlour costs $35.00 per person and The Floor is Lava costs $30.00 per person, with discounts for large parties. Discounts are available for students, veterans, and seniors.

Great Room Escape is located in the Gaslamp Quarter and has three rooms: Houdini’s Hidden Workshop, The Zombie Lab, and Forbidden Aztec Temple. The Zombie Lab and Forbidden Aztec Temple close seasonally from late August through mid-November, as the site also serves as the Haunted Hotel. Tickets cost $34.95 per person.
