Rocky Terrain & Rough Surf
The underwater reefs and jutting rocks create extremely fierce waves at Windansea create the perfect environment for surfing. The waves at this rocky beach are perfect almost year-round. However, this beach is extremely rocky, so make sure you use extreme care. The water can be dangerous when you are hurtling towards the rocky beach. Life guards will be available at Windansea Beach, but only from 9 am to dusk during the summer.
The beach has plenty of vehicle access and parking, so make sure that you come prepared to catch some great waves. Located at the end of Nautilus Street lies a small pubic parking area that allows beach access, but all other parking will be street parking. The beach is also accessible through public transportation.
Romantic Spots
The scenic nature of this beautiful beach also exudes a romantic energy. The beach is relatively secluded and offers an amazing view of the sunset off the coast. The rocks allowed a natural framing of the view. The historic surf shack that lies on this beach is a very popular photograph location that is frequented by wedding photographers and people taking glamour shots. The richly colored sunset in the background with a sand worn surf shack provides a really natural look that wedding couples love.
Beach Rules
The beach also does not have any public facilities such as bathrooms. Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited, and there is no smoking allowed on the beach or the adjacent areas to the beach. There is no littering or excessive noise allowed at any time. Dogs are not permitted after 9 am, but they are permitted after 4 pm during the winter and 6 pm year round.
