Sushi is one of those dishes that you either love or hate; there is no in-between. But if you happen to be a sushi lover, it may be difficult to find a sushi restaurant in San Diego that serves the quality of this delicacy that you prefer. And while we can’t help you with your sushi search at home, while you’re in San Diego, we can lead you to our favorite place in town: Cannonball Sushi San Diego. Located at 3105 Ocean Front Walk in Belmont Park, this trendy sushi spot opened in 2015 and has fast become an overnight sensation in San Diego.
The sunset over the ocean in San Diego is more than just a pretty sight; it has become an event worth celebrating, and the rooftop deck at Cannonball is THE premier place to celebrate. Glass walls protect its patrons from accidental spills onto the beach below without interfering with the view of the people, the beach, and of course, that sunset. Live music on Thursdays features the best of local bands and helps create that laidback beachy ambience that many restaurants try it imitate, but always seem to miss some key ingredient. Cannonball’s vibe, like its sushi, is always spot on, so visiting this popular sushi bar in San Diego should be at the top of your vacation bucket list!
Let’s Start with a Drink, Shall We?
The full bar at Cannonball Sushi in San Diego offers just about every flavor and variety of drink that you could imagine. The smooth wines available by the bottle or the glass, frosty beers, bubbly champagne, six brands of tequila, 14 brands of whisky, sake, and specialty cocktails will add a brightness to a meal that already shines. Their signature cocktails always strike the right note, and if we had to choose just one, it would be their Shiso Beautiful, made from Honjozu sake, Captain Morgan white rum, Yuzu pear sour, Shiso, and ginger beer; it makes us smile with every sip!
And What About That Sushi in San Diego?
We may sound like dorks, but it’s been known for us to dream about the sushi served at Cannonball. Lobster rolls with spicy lobster, yamagobo, tempura fried panko, avocado, spicy aioli, jalapeño rings, and eel sauce, as well as salmon sashimi and even their shrimp ceviche float through our minds at night, tempting us with what we can’t have until doors open at 11:30 in the morning. Also serving delicious burgers and tacos, EVERYTHING you try at Cannonball sushi in San diego is going to be your new favorite dish!
