Adjacent to some of the best beaches in the United States, there’s no shortage of things to do near your lodging in San Diego, from swimming to snorkeling to scuba diving to surfing—and if the water’s not your thing, then you’ve still got places to jog, walk, rollerblade, and sunbathe.
Get Outside
You don’t have to be an outdoorsy person to enjoy San Diego’s warm weather and sunshine. You can take a nice stroll through Balboa Park or a hike up Iron Mountain Trail for a challenge. If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, try parasailing at Torrey Pines State Park or swimming with sharks in La Jolla. For a tamer experience, try snorkeling or watching the seals at La Jolla Cove.
San Diego Restaurants
You’ve got access to plenty of piers and boardwalks when staying in our lodging in San Diego—famous congregating places for shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants. You can walk out midday for a refreshing stop at a café, spend the afternoon shopping, grab dinner, and barhop until you head home, all without needing a rental car!
Try one of San Diego’s beachside restaurants. Chilling out on the patio with a refreshing beer or cocktails and some fish tacos is a great way to spend a summer afternoon. San Diego offers plenty of opportunities.
Stella Public House is a coffee bar/eatery. You’ll find farm-to-table pizza and craft beer and cocktails that you can enjoy on their patio. Bagby Beer Company in Oceanside offers a sidewalk porch, a back patio, and a rooftop.

You’ve got access to Mission Bay Park, Sunset Cliffs National Park, Tecolote Canyon Natural Park, and Mount Soledad Natural Park, all offering lovely walks and scenery to enjoy San Diego’s gorgeous weather. As a huge plus, you’re also only a stone’s throw away from Sea World! And of course, you’re just a short drive from Balboa Park, home of the world-renowned San Diego Zoo!
