Travelers visiting San Diego in early to mid-November have the opportunity to sample from the city’s most notable craft beer breweries during San Diego Beer Week. San Diego is developing an international reputation for its award-winning craft brews from over 100 breweries, bringing home medals from the 2010 World Beer Cup (beating England, Germany, and Belgium combined) and the 2015 Great American Beer Festival.

Festival Information

Sample the best breweries in the newest craft beer capital! Over the course of 10 days, breweries from Abnormal Beer Co. to White Labs are featured and highlighted at San Diego Beer Week, with samples being served to event attendees. This fun-filled beer festival also offers local food and musical favorites, such as Pacific Pizza, Swell Coffee Co., and The Flocculators.

At Beer Week, you can also take half-hour beer college sessions for college certificates! UC San Diego offers a certificate in extension brewing, in which you learn about the effects of wild yeast on the flavor of beer and taste beer samples. Meanwhile, taking a short class through SDSU College of Extended Studies will earn you a Professional Certificate in the Business of Craft Beer, which focuses on barrel-aged beers and has samples for attendees.

Tickets are available online on the official San Diego Beer Week website, with Guild Fest (hosted by San Diego Brewers Guild) being the official two-day kickoff event of San Diego Beer Week. Guild Fest tickets include the VIP Brewer Takeover on the first Friday of the event and the San Diego Brewers Guild Festival on the first Saturday of the event.
