The competition takes place on Crown Point Shores in Mission Bay Park, in late March or early April a time of year, when water conditions are most ideal and spectators can watch the fast-paced races from the park’s sunny, green lawns.
On the Friday before the competition, a free preview day is held in the Beer Garden, which features award-winning local craft beers and opens at 1:00pm. During the preview day, spectators can watch rowing crews practice on the water or walk around the many vendors’ booths. There is also a pasta dinner held that night for everyone, with tickets available for sale.
Races start at 7:30am on each morning of the competition, concluding at 6:30pm on Saturday evening and 3:00pm on Sunday evening. Races take off within 10 minutes or less, ensuring that spectators and rowers alike will find the Crew Classic to be an action-packed event.
