San Diego Del Mar Horse Races

The sound of horses galloping around the track, the roars of the crowds, the thrill when your horse wins by a photo finish, or the agony of your horse losing—all this creates an atmosphere so exciting, you find yourself reluctant to leave at the end of the night. And the Del Mar Racetrack, located at 2260 Jimmy Durante Boulevard at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, is one of our personal favorites! Known as the place where “the turf meets the surf,” the Del Mar horse races featured here are one of a kind!

Two Seasons

Not open year-round, now’s the time to go to the San Diego Del Mar Horse Track, especially if you have never played the horses before. Summer Meet lasts from Friday, July 15th through Monday, September 5th. The Bing Crosby Meet starts Friday, November 11th and ends Sunday, December 4th. Gates open at 12PM during the season, with the first post starting at 2PM.

The Prizes

As of today, the Super Hi-5 Carryover is running at $22,705, but that always changes.

Newcomer’s Seminars

Betting on the horses can be kind of scary if you don’t know what you’re doing, and Del Mar Horse Track offers a Newcomer’s Seminar every day. Held an hour before first post, you will learn almost everything you need to know about picking a winner!
