Featured acts include Sue Palmer and her Motel Swing Orchestra (with vocalist Deejah Marie), Heliotrope Ragtime Orchestra with dancers in vintage costumes, Ton Rigney and Flambeau playing Cajun jazz, the Euphoria Brass Band of San Diego, Red Skunk, Katie Cavera, Night Blooming Jazzmen of Claremont, The Memphis Boys, and the Mission Bay High School Preservationists (a group of young and talented musicians from the local high school).
Attendees will also find that the festival features plenty of classes and demonstrations in dance and music for interested participants, such as “JazzSea Jams,” in which cornetist Dick Williams allows musically-inclined festival-goers to join and jam with an organized band. Dance lovers can observe demonstrations by Joel Ply’s Han 10 Hoppers and Marggie Adams’ Swing FX Dance Team, and take classes from Georgia and Hal Myers.
