Each year, Seaport Village celebrates the Spring Busker Festival, California’s only busker festival. If you think this is just about jazz musicians banging on plastic bucket drums, think again. You’ll find musical performances, sword swallowing, knife throwing, pogo stick tricks, juggling on unicycles and more. Buskers also compete to win the People’s Choice Award. This free festival will celebrate its 13th year in 2019. It will take place March 2-3.
Spring Busker Festival Location
The Spring Busker Festival takes place at Seaport Village, a 14-acre waterfront shopping, dining and entertainment complex that includes 54 shops and 17 restaurants. You can drink wine, beer and munch on gourmet bites while you admire the acts. The complex is located right on the waterfront, too, so you’ll enjoy a great sunset with your music and arts. Check out this year’s lineup online. You’ll find Russian flamenco guitar musicians, card magicians and comedians.
When you’re done at the busker festival, you can head over to the nearby USS Midway Museum to learn about life on a Navy aircraft carrier. The museum frequently tops the list of must-dos in San Diego.
Busker After Dark
For those older than 18, the “Busker After Dark” event on Saturday, March 2 will take place 7-10 p.m. and features more live acts and food and beverages for sale.
