Fall in San Diego means crisp, cool weather, sunny days, and plenty of Halloween San Diego festivities. From pumpkin patches to street fairs, haunted houses, and special events at the zoo there are plenty of spooky events to get you in the Halloween mood.

Belmont Park Fall Festival and Haunt

Every weekend during the month of October Belmont Park is transformed into Boomont Park. This historic oceanfront amusement park turns into a haunted festival with trick-or-treating, a pumpkin patch, zombie laser tag, and a spooky roller coaster. Entrance into the festival is free and the price of different rides vary.

Free trick-or-treating is held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the park for your little ghosts and ghouls. There is also a costume contest every Saturday at 5 p.m. If you really want to get into the Halloween spirit you can pick a pumpkin from the festivals pumpkin patch. Pumpkins vary by price but are free to paint. For the Halloween thrill-seekers in your group, there is the giant Spooky Roller Coaster or Zombie Laser Tag.

Halloween San Diego Monster Bash

If you are looking for a truly spooktacular Halloween Party, check out the Monster Bash. This outdoor block party is held every year in the Gaslamp District and is known as Southern California’s hottest Halloween San Diego block party. The event draws thousands of people each year dressed in some of the most creative and over-the-top costumes. The best costumes can compete in a costume contest to win the $5,000 prize. You’ll be dancing all night at this party as the festival brings some of the best EDM, Hip Hop, Trap, and House artists in the world. If you are hoping for some spooky entertainment the festival also has haunted houses including the hot pink Twisted Dream House. This year’s Monster Bash will be held on Saturday, October 28 from 6 p.m. – midnight. Ticket prices range from $30 – $110.

The Haunted Hotel

If you are looking for even more terror-thrilled fun, check out San Diego’s famous Haunted Hotel. The Haunted Hotel is San Diego’s longest-running haunted house and was voted one of the scariest in the country. This year’s theme will take you through a zombie-infested alley and a hillbilly swamp full of man-hunting killers. If you want to take the fear up a notch, visit the haunted house on lights out Wednesday. All the lights in the house are turned off and your only source of light is a small glow stick given to you at the beginning of the hotel. The Haunted Hotel is open Wednesday – Sunday during the month of October and every day during the last week of the month. Tickets can be bought online and are $20 per person.

San Diego is one of the most visited cities in the entire country. The beaches and perfect weather are a big reason for this, but so are the wonderful events that fill the city’s calendar throughout the year. This is particularly true when the summer months come around, as the community really comes to life. You are sure to find an event for everyone during this time. The following are five San Diego summer events that are coming to San Diego this summer that you will not want to miss!

San Diego County Fair

From June through July, you will not want to miss the largest fair in all of California. This is the best way to spend a summer day or evening in San Diego enjoying great rides, awesome food, one of a kind entertainment, and so much more. And you will never have experienced a Ferris wheel ride as sweet as this one with the incredible views of the Pacific Ocean that it provides. You can find all the action at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

4th of July Big Bay Boom

This is the largest fireworks display in the whole country, and you could not pick a more beautiful venue for it. This July 4th celebration features an incredible array of fireworks launched from barges throughout the northern San Diego Bay. The best part is you can enjoy the show beginning at 9:00 pm from nearly anywhere in the city, but the best spots can be found anywhere along the shores of the San Diego Bay.

San Diego Comic-Con International

Like the other events here, this one is the biggest of its kind in the entire country. People think of comic books when they think of Comic-Con, but it is really a celebration of all things pop culture, and you are not going to want to miss it. Enjoy panel discussions, workshops, and demonstrations from everyone from comic book professionals to filmmakers. This year, it is happening July 18th through the 22nd at the San Diego Convention Center in the downtown area.

Del Mar Races

Del Mar is known for many things, but one of the most prominent is the horse racing that takes place from mid-July to early September. This event is fun for everyone even if you are not looking to bet on the ponies, because it is a true spectacle to be a part of. You can catch races five days a week at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.

Miramar Air Show

As summer comes to a close there is no stop to the great San Diego summer events. If you are travelling here in September, you could have a chance to see one of the best air shows in the country. There are over 100 civilian and military performers, with the height of action of course coming with the flight of the United States Navy’s Blue Angels. This is happening on September 22nd through the 24th and is sure to provide fun for the whole family.

Find a Great Place to Stay While Enjoying San Diego Summer Events!

There is no shortage of things to do while in San Diego, but you will also have no problem finding an amazing place to call home while you are here. And we are not talking about hotels, as the comforts of the city’s numerous vacation rentals trump those of any hotels, any night of the week. This is especially true for the homes that 710 Beach Rentals provide. Not only are each of them beautiful and cozy, but they are speckled throughout the best areas in town that you will allow you to easily attend the events that you choose. Check out our awesome listings today!

There’s never a shortage of things to do in San Diego, and some weeks are even more exciting than others! If you’re looking for an event to set your San Diego vacation apart from all others, check out one of these festivals:

San Diego Latino Film Festival

If you’ve ever been interested in Hispanic culture, this is one festival you need to check out. It celebrates Latino culture while also portraying the struggles unique to Latino cultures, both historically and today. But of course, like any great film festival, it also reaches at what makes us all human. The San Diego Latino Film Festival is nearing its 20th anniversary; it’s usually held in March.

Spring Busker Festival

Mid-April brings this delightful festival to Seaport Village. A busker is a street performer, usually a comedic one who incorporates all sorts of tricks. Previous buskers to take the Seaport streets include sword-swallowers, break dancers, unicyclists, jugglers, and more! The event is free to attend—though of course performers graciously accept tips!

Oysterfest

While San Diego’s oysters may not be as famous as those of the Gulf states or New England, they make for a great excuse to have some fun! The festival happens each June, and while of course delicious oysters will be served, there’s much more: fantastic live bands will be playing, and there’ll be plenty of beer and food to enjoy—even for those who aren’t feeling shellfish! Admission averages about $40 to $50 for a single day.

Sun and Sea Festival

This July festival is centered around the Imperial Beach Sand Castle Competition, which brings together world-class sculptors to create some truly jaw-dropping feats of sand sculpture! The day includes a pancake breakfast, a parade, and a competition open to children ages 5 through 12. If you want something more exciting than the usual day at the beach, check out the Sun and Sea Festival.

San Diego Beer Week

San Diego loves and celebrates beer, especially the great creations that have arisen in its proud microbreweries. So much do we love this drink, that we take an entire ten days to celebrate it! Stay in San Diego in November to enjoy dozens of beer-related events, from tasting competitions to tours. All sorts of restaurants join in on the fun, so if you’re a connoisseur or just love an excuse to drink, mark San Diego Beer Week on your calendar!

Ongoing

Fantasty On Ice performances at Liberty Station’s outdoor ice skating rink will take place from November 17th through January 3rd, and you can ice skate on the beach yourself at Hotel Del Coronado’s Skating by the Sea event, which begins November 23rd and ends during the first week of January. The San Diego Zoo transforms into a winter wonderland during Jungle Bells, an event that begins December 9th and lasts until January 2nd.

This is also the season in which the annual migration of California Gray Whales to Baja California takes place, making December and January two of the most ideal months for whale watching cruises or watching whales from Point Loma.
